Finding Your Part in God’s Master Story

An Exploration of Christian Worldviews

Finding your purpose in the world can be a challenging pursuit. It helps to understand the greater story around you.

Whether we realize it or not, we all have an internal belief system—a worldview—which directs our thoughts and actions. Our worldview is how we understand the world around us—where we came from, how we should live, and what our purpose is. Examining your personal worldview in light of God’s Master Story can strengthen your faith and clarify your purpose in this world.

Finding Your Part in God’s Master Story is an interactive group study that explores different ways Christians view their world and encourages all Christians to have a consistent, comprehensive, and biblical worldview.

Your view of the world shapes every part of your life. It’s time to take control and shape your worldview!

In Finding Your Part in God’s Master Story, we learn

  • Everyone has a worldview, a set of beliefs which affect their thoughts and actions;
  • What we believe about God, the world, and our role in it is very important;
  • But not all Christians share the same worldview.

To build a consistent, comprehensive, and Christian worldview, we can

  • Understand the larger story of which we are a part;
  • Consider the setting of the story, the major characters making things happen, the goal of the story, and the obstacles and opposition between us and the goal;
  • Examine our beliefs about the beginning, middle, and end of the story to see if they make a consistent whole;
  • Then join God in the work he is doing in the world.

Janet Ruth has played many parts, including federal prosecutor, college professor, wife, mother, volunteer, and Bible teacher. She holds a law degree as well as a master’s degree in biblical studies. Her passion is encouraging Christians to truly live what they say they believe. Ruth is the author of one novel and three Christian living books that help Christians internalize their beliefs so they influence their thoughts and actions every day.

If you have ever questioned what you believe, this book is for you!  Finding Your Part in God’s Master Story takes a unique and refreshing approach to the subject of world views.  Author, Janet Ruth invites the reader to participate in a journey of discovery.  Along the way, you will examine some of your most basic beliefs about God, the world, how things work, and, most importantly, where you fit in.  Many books are interesting.  Few are worthwhile.  Finding Your Part in God’s Master Story is both.

As Christians, we are encouraged to live according to our beliefs, but that assumes we understand and recognize what we believe. For the most part, we believe what we’ve been taught—at least until the circumstances of life cause us to question those beliefs, other people we meet introduce conflicting beliefs, or someone tells us we’re stupid or old-fashioned for believing things “no one” believes in anymore. It’s important, then, to not only know what we believe but also why we believe it if we want to be secure in our worldview. It is only then that our actions will consistently reflect what we say we believe.
